SYNOPSIS: „In ‚A Day in the Life of a Boy,‘ we experience an ordinary day in the life of an extraordinary boy: Autistic Daan sees the world very differently from his little sister Millie. However, Millie becomes increasingly aware of her brother’s uniqueness. When Daan accidentally kills Millie’s bird, she is consumed by anger and grief. Will she ultimately decide to help him or prioritize her own needs?

PROJECT: In collaboration with the alumni production company Fourmat Film GmbH, Niklas Bauer and Marie Marxmeier realized their graduation film during the winter semester of 2019/20 at Hochschule Darmstadt. The film was funded by Hessenfilm und Medien with the Hochschulabschlussförderung and also supported by kulturMut Rhein-Main.
Director and screenwriter Niklas Bauer’s goal with the film is to make the autistic perspective on the world tangible. In doing so, he approaches Daan on the same level. At the same time, a complex sibling relationship is portrayed.
