„Creative Film and TV Production“

We welcome Herbert Schwering of Cologne-based Coin Film as a professor in the Motion Pictures program, who teaches students the know-how of producing starting November 1. 2022

His resume shows a lot of experience in the industry and also in teaching:

Journalist and M.A. Communication Science, Politics and Pedagogy, 1993-97 Managing Director Filmwerkstatt Münster, Festival Director „Filmzwerge Münster“, 1993 foundation of ICON FILM with change of name in 2007 as COIN FILM, 1998-2003
Lecturer „Creative Producing“ KHM Cologne, Jury Member (a.o. BKM, FFA), Board of Film und Medienverband NRW, Member German Film Academy, European Film Academy, Atéliers du Cinéma Européen (ACE). Since 2018 member of the Medienkommission in der Landesanstalt für Medien NRW.

WHAT IS THE INTEREST AND ATTRACTION OF WORKING AS A PROFESSOR IN THE MOTION PICTURES PROGRAM AT THE H-DA?

„Since my studies I have always worked practically, the last 25 years as a film producer, but I also found it important and interesting to pass on my knowledge. The professorship for „Creative Film and TV Production“ offers an excellent opportunity for this „knowledge transfer“ in an artistic environment, once for me as a teacher, but hopefully also for the students, who as the future film talents will challenge us artistically and entertain us in an original way.“
